We warmly invite parents and carers to join a school tour (max. 2 tickets per booking). 
Please arrive 5 minutes early for signing in. Tours last about an hour and include a welcome talk, 
guided tour, and time for questions. For safety, prams and buggies must be left in the playground. 

Where possible, we ask that prospective pupils do not attend.

Admissions to St Mary's Catholic Primary School

Reception Intake : Academic Year 2027/2028

For those parents interested in applying for a place at St Mary's Catholic Primary School for the Reception Intake 2027/2028 (those children born between 01.09.2022 & 31.08.2023) the Waltham Forest Primary Brochure containing criteria for all schools and information on how to apply will be available from September 2026.

Brochures are available online via the London Borough of Waltham Forest Website at https://www.walthamforest.gov.uk/schools-education-and-learning/apply-primary-school. If you are unable to access the brochure online please email admissions@walthamforest.gov.uk who will be able to send you a copy by return email.

Applications can be made on-line from September at www.eadmissions.org.uk and parents are encouraged to use this route if at all possible. Alternatively, a paper application can be submitted using the 'Common Application Form' (CAF) obtainable from Primary Admissions. The application window for a 2027 place in Reception opens on the 1st of September 2026 and closes of the 15th January 2026.

Parents/carers who want to support their application with a copy of the Certificate of Catholic Practice need to make an appointment with their parish priest to obtain and complete the certificate.  The child’s original baptism certificate will also need to be seen by the school. It is the responsibility of the parents /carers to ensure all supporting documentation is returned to the school office on or before the 15th January 2027.

Appeal Timetable for Reception Intake 2027/2028

Closing date for submitting Appeal Form is 16 May 2027. 

If you have any queries, please contact the school office by email and we will respond as quickly as we can. All appeals will be heard taking reasonable adjustments and will folllow procedures as laid out in local and national guidance.

Annual Reception Intakes For Future Academic Years

Reception intakes are co-ordinated by the Borough and the application process commences in the year before your child is due to start school. At that time, information will be available from Waltham Forest Pupil Admissions - Telephone: 020 8496 3000 (Option 5 - Admissions). Information will also be available on their website at www.walthamforest.gov.uk If calling in person the address for personal callers is Sycamore House, Walthamstow Town Hall Complex, Forest Road, E17 4JX - opening times 9.30 am - 4.30 pm, Mondays to Fridays.
