Supporting our children, bringing our community together.
Registered charity number: 1205396
Welcome to the Friends of St Mary’s, the parent/teacher association of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School.
All parents and carers automatically become members when their child joins the school. Together, we organise events, raise funds and help provide additional resources and experiences that enrich our children’s time at St Mary’s.
Our work reflects the school’s mission: Love God, Love Others, Love Ourselves.
What we do
The Friends bring children, families and staff together while strengthening the links between home, school and parish.
Through our fundraising and community events, we aim to:
- Support children’s education through additional equipment, resources and experiences.
- Help make school life enjoyable and memorable for every child.
- Give families opportunities to meet, build friendships and enjoy being part of our school community.
Could your employer match your fundraising?
Your support could go even further through employer match funding.
Some employers offer schemes that match money their employees raise or donate to an eligible charity. Depending on the scheme, helping at a Friends’ fundraising event could unlock an additional contribution for our children.
For example, if an eligible fundraising activity raises £200 and an employer agrees to match it pound for pound, the charity could receive £400 in total.
How to get involved
Ask your HR or community giving team whether your employer offers match funding.
Check whether Friends of St Mary’s Chingford qualifies, whether approval is needed in advance and what evidence is required.
Contact the Friends before the event so we can coordinate your involvement and any supporting information.
Follow your employer’s application process and deadlines.
Each employer’s scheme has its own rules, limits and eligibility requirements.

Class representatives help share Friends’ messages, promote events, pass on ideas and coordinate support from their class. Two representatives can share the role.
