Our Prayers At St Mary's

The Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, (touch forehead)

and of the Son, (touch chest)

and of the Holy Spirit. (touch each shoulder)

Amen.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;

thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us,

and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen

The Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death.

Amen

Act of Sorrow

O my God, because you are so good,

I am very sorry that I have sinned against you

and by the help of your grace I will try not to sin again. Amen

Glory Be To The Father

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,

as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,

a world without end. Amen

Morning Prayer/s

O my God, you love me. Your're with me night and day.

I want to love you always in all I do and say.

I'll try to please you, Father.

Bless me through the day. Amen

Good morning dear Jesus, this day is for you,

I ask you to bless all the things that I do. Amen

Night Prayer

God our Father, I come to say thank you for your love today.

Thank yo for my family, and all the friends you give to me.

Guard me in the dark of night,

and in the morning send your light. Amen

Grace before meals

Bless us, O God, as we sit together. Bless the food we each today.

Bless the hands that made the food. Bless us, O God. Amen.

Grace after meals

Thank you, God, for all we have eaten. Thank you, God, for all our friends.

Thank you, God, for everything. Thank you, God, Amen.

Hail Holy Queen

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy.

Hail our life, our sweetness and our hope.

To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.

To thee do we send up our sighs,

mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.

Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us,

and after this our exile show us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Pray for us, O holy Mother of God,

that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.

Prayer of St Teresa of Avila

Christ has no body now on earth but yours;

no hands but yours, no feet but yours.

Yours are the eyes through which he looks with compassion on the world.

Yours are the feet through which he is to go about doing good.

Yours are the hands with which he is to bless all people now. Amen

Prayer for Serenity

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

the courage to change the things I can,

and the wisdom to know the difference. Amen.

Confiteor

I confess to Almight God, and to you, my brothers and sisters,

that I have sinned through my own fault, in my thoughts and in my words,

in which I have done, and in what I have failed to do;

and I ask blessed Mary, ever virgin, all the angels and saints, and you, my

brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. Amen

Prayer after Communion

Lord Jesus, I love and adore you, you're a special friend to me.

Welcome, Lord Jesus, O welcome! Thank you for coming to me.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, O thank you for giving yourself to me.

Make me strong to show your love wherever I may be.

I'm ready now, Lord Jesus, to show how much I care.

I'm ready now to fire your love at home and everywhere. Amen

For the faithful departed

Eternal rest grant to them, O Lord,

and let perpetual light shine on them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

St Patrick's Breastplate

Christ be with me, Christ be beside me, Christ be before me,

Christ be behind me, Christ be at my right hand. Christ be at my left hand.

Christ be with me everywhere I go. Christ be my friend, for ever and ever.

Amen.

A prayer to say or listen to

Lord, make me a messenger of your love.

Where people hate, let ME bring LOVE.

Where people are sad, help ME bring JOY

Where people are hurt, let ME bring COMFORT

Where people are lonely, help ME bring FRIENDSHIP

Help me be the kind of neighbour who HELPS EVERYONE -

even those who don't help me. Amen.
