Collective Worship at our school

Prayer and worship are integral to the life of our school. The children are engaged at every level in the prayer life of the school. During collective worship and assemblies children read, sing, dance, act and therefore listen to the word of God with reverence and personal commitment.

Every class prepares and leads a whole school assembly held on Friday mornings to which parents are invited to attend.

KS2 children prepare a Mass each term when they join the parish to celebrate the Mass with parishioners. Our younger children prepare a Prayer Service each term which is also held in the Church. The whole school joins the Parish for Mass on special Feast days and Holy days of Obligation.

In every classroom we have a special Prayer corner with displays reflecting the current RE themes. The Prayer corner and Our Lady's garden provide quiet areas that signal to pupils the value placed on individual prayer and reflection.

Staff and children pray together regularly throughout the day and children have opportunities to compose and share prayers in class and assemblies.
